Friday Five

2003-01-19 12:18 AM

1. Where do you currenty work?

I currently work in a Bingo Hall, thus the name Bingoguy. For the sake of being vague I never actually say where it is.

2. How Many Other Jobs have you had and where?

Oh my god, Dozens. I've worked in various different bingo halls over 18 years calling bingo. I also have my own DJ Company which I've been doing on the side for the past 8 years. When I haven't been calling bingo I've worked in fast food (Wendy's), A Gas Station (Petro Canada), Various Telemarketing type jobs, I've been a Marketing Assistant for financial firm, in Retail (Staples), and a couple of contract jobs for the local community TV station.

3. What do you like best about your job?

Well, Mostly the fact I can be a bit of performer. I like to make people laugh. Bingo has always offered me a captive audience. I've always enjoyed people. I think it's my sad need to be accepted by everyone. Although I make this work for my job.

4. What do you like least about your job?

Quite honestly, the company/management. They are disorganized and they don't seem to realize the bottom line is making money. (I shouldn't have to point this out to them.) Dealing with the management and the company is quite similiar to walking blindly repeatedly into a brick wall. (IE It doesn't serve much purpose and you ask yourself why you keep doing it.)

5. What is your Dream Job?

Honestly, if I knew what this was. I'd probably be in it. Sadly, I've got an education in Broadcast Arts and yet I've never actually held an actual job in the industry. I quite enjoy the production end of television and would probably enjoy the production end of making radio programs too. It's a self confidence/self-motivation problem, I just can't seem to push myself into that first job. Thus, I keep dreaming.

2002-10-11 8:08am [The Original Entry]

I've known about Friday Five for awhile now but I rarely found the questions of any great interest to me. But I thought since I'm on holidays I'd break a trend and answer this set.

Here goes...

1. If you could only choose 1 cd to ever listen to again, what would it be?

BG : This is amazingly tough. Why? Because I'm surrounded by such vast amounts of music and like such a variety of things. I think I'd have to go with Peter Gabriel's "So" Album.

2. If you could only choose 2 movies to watch ever again, what would they be?

BG: Heat and The Matrix. Heat is by far one of my most favourite films I have ever watched. It's got a great story, great characters, great actors and a great director. It's just out and out awesome. The Matrix is probably the film I have watched the most times in my life. It's the only movie I currently OWN a copy of. Another Great Story, Great Acting, Awesome Action.

3. If you could only choose 3 books to read ever again, what would they be?

Stephen King's "The Stand" , Jack L. Chalker's "The Demons At Rainbow Bridge" (Quintara Marathon), and Frank Herbert's "Dune".

4. If you could only choose 4 things to eat or drink ever again, what would they be?

Lasanga, Pizza, Hot Beefeater Sub (from Quizno's), Ice Tea, and Cold, Fresh Stream Mountain Water. (The best)

5. If you could only choose 5 people to ever be/talk/associate/whatever with ever again, who would they be?

Out of Town Peter, Bart, My Sister Jo, Veronica, and to ever be : Myself.
