Funk Da Funk

Well I suck.

I've been in a total funk lately. I'm not sure why. I just can't seem to motivate myself to do anything. Which means things go undone for WAY too long.

I am pretty sure I got nothing done off my list from Wednesday. Well, I did but not until today (Friday). At that I didn't manage to do much.

The first thing on my list to do today was go get two passport photos done. Things have changed in bingoland with BCLC (British Columbia Lottery Corp) taking over the governing of bingo halls and casinos. They want bingo to have a more casino type front. (This I thought should have been done way in 1990 when they made bingo halls pay their employees by the hour and not via honorariums). So I am getting the photos as part of my Secuirty Check and licencing. My ex-wife would drop dead since she always considered having a licence to do ones job meant you were truly a professional. Well, Baby, I'm a professional. Even if I am just a stinkin' bingo caller.

As for the photos. It looks like someone took a picture of a dead person. The white background washed out my already pale (pasty whiteboy) face. Well, Whatever, It's no different than a drivers licence and we all know how horrid those can be.

I then took my photos and my security check application to work to drop it off. I filled the form out while I was sitting at a table at work. I was like the running joke for the people workin. They were all "Oh my god, you haven't done that yet, you MUST be last." My reply was simple "I *AM* Last." I finished filling out the forms when one of my co-workers said to me. "They'll have to photo copy your Driver's Licence and Birth Certificate upstairs." I did a double take at the forms "Oh Shit. My BIRTH certificate?!" Not that I was concern about having a birth certificate. Yes, yes, I was actually born not hatched, not dropped off on the planet by aliens. Or whatever have yous. The problem was I hadn't brought it with me. Fuck! Now, this means management has to wait to send everything off until I get it to them. I'll do that tomorrow when I have to work days. I just have to remember to put it in my wallet before I go to bed. I still have to eat dinner here, why you ask? Well, that's the next part of my entry.

Today I had to do a party for an elementary school. These concern me right up until I put the first song on. They're usually a fairly easy crowd to keep happy. They want all the top 40 songs plus a classic songs that they've heard. It's was another night where people came up to me at the end of the dance and we're complimenting. Kids, Parents, Teachers. It's a nice feeling getting compliments and I'm getting better at just saying "Thanks" or "Thank you". Want to know what song these kids screamed THE loudest for when it started to play? The Bird Dance. Now when I was in elementary school if you'd been a DJ and played the Bird Dance. Well, We'd have strung you up. My, how times change. They didn't request it. I just had a feeling. I also used my pitch control at the very end to speed the song up so fast that it's barely recognizable but the kids sure tried to keep up. THAT's funny to me.

Well, My shoulder still hurts so the owners of my gear came and rescued me when I was done. They brought a contingence of people tonight. That made everything smooth and quick. I went over to their place to visit for awhile. Non-eventual so I won't bore you.

I just got home. I ordered in since it was already midnight by the time I got here. I ordered Lasagna from a take out place. Nothing spectacular but I'll eat it and enjoy it. I didn't have to make it and while I was waiting for it to arrive. I entered this. So, I've been productive today sort of. Oh well back to grind that is bingo tomorrow. Maybe I'll manage to have a story for you, who knows.

Stay Tuned...
