A Night Out With Darla

I had an uneventful day at work except for the part where I had to grovel to two different co-workers to wrangle my way out of working Bingo so I could go DJ on Saturday night. I make more money DJ'n so I always want to do that. The problem this time around was the fact it's a big event night and they hate it when i do that but I did manage to come up with an arrangement that was hunky dorey with the management so now I'm set.

I came home and I am sure I had planned on being productive around my house but I ended up talking to a friend from online that I actually know from Bingo. Let's call her, Darla. (I must stop putting off making a cast list cause oh my god, way too many pseudos now for people).

Darla asked if I was working tonight because she was planning on coming to play. I told her I had already worked days but if she wanted company I would do the unthinkable and go play bingo with her. So I met her for the late night session. We totally blabbed the night away. It was quite funny. We barely paid attention to our cards. Thank God for Electronic Bingo cards. I'd have missed all my numbers. I did manage to win a game for $20. So I only ended up spending about $11 on the entire session which is pretty good for 2 hours entertainment and visiting with a friend.

We went outside after the session was over and sat and talked for awhile. I mentioned that I normally go to the casino not play bingo and she said she was thinking of going down there. Which we decided we would go together. She went a played slots and I went and played my usual Pai-Gow Poker. In 40 minutes I made $110. Now if I'd been a smart boy, which I attempted to do, I left the table but Darla was still playing slots so I basically put all the money back. I played some slots and played Roulette (what was I thinking lol.) and I think I was up $10 when I left. But I had fun and it was on their dime so no harm done.

When we finally decided to leave, Darla went looking in her purse for her car keys and couldn't find them. At that exact moment I was sifting through my own pockets and poked a big hole in my pocket. I had a bunch of loonies and twonies (dollar and two dollar coins) in my pocket. I wonder what she thought cause I stayed calm and cool. Asking her "Do you remember where you had your keys last?" At the same time I'm feeling coins sliding down my leg. I lifted up my pant leg and all my coins fell all over the floor. Darla was so busy trying to think where she left her keys and re-checking her purse that she never even noticed what I was doing.

She actually remember taking out her keys and setting them aside when she offered me some gum outside the bingo hall when we were talking. So, We walked back to my hall and sure enough wedged between the wood of the bench we were sitting on were her keys. I was actually surprised how calm she remained through it all considering she has a bunch of things to do in the morning.

We walked over to her car. She asked me for a hug goodnight. Hugs are always great. She got in her car. I made fun of how close she has to sit to the windshield because she's short. So that led us to talking for another 15 minutes through her car window. Finally, I did the gentlemanly thing, knowing she had to get up early than me in the morning, and said good night.

I drove home with a smile on face having had a good time out with someone I like to spend time with. I need to remember to do things like that more often.

But now is the time for me to go to bed.
