We're Gonna Party Like It's 2010

Well, I suppose I should be getting all excited now because Vancouver won the 2010 Winter Olympics Bid. It's definitely a belated birthday present for Canada Day.

The thought of having such a big event reminds me of when Vancouver had the World Exposition in 1986. I was 16 at the time and had a seasons pass. I was there almost every day.

I met a lot of people from online back then too. We had tons and tons of "meets" there. I think it would have been more exciting had I been of legal drinking age. The debauchery I could have caused then.

Of course, The Olympics will be different. It won't be people in one area wandering around and standing in lines. It'll be people going to events all over Vancouver (and 2 hours away at Whistler) so they'll be dispersed. I can probably guarentee unless I suddenly get the an urge to drive in way too much traffic that I will be avoiding Vancouver in the Winter of 2010.

I am pretty sure the prayer masses will be starting next week for snow. We've had such mild winters here in BC for the past few years. We may have forgotten what snow looks like. This, of course, not a good thing for WINTER olympics. Perhaps "they" have plans to fuck with the ecosphere and create snow that year. That'll be a pain in the ass I can tell ya.

Otherwise, there'll be delgates wandering around saying "Don't think of it as rain, think of it as Liquid Snow!"

Ya, That'll work.

Oh well, If anything it's another excuse for us "Wild" Canadians to get drunk and party every night but we'll have to wait 8 years. I might not have the correct attitude then being as I'll be 42 years old. Wow, That's depressing.
