Nothing New Under The Sun

I had to get up early this morning. I had to wait for The Chick's Ex-Husband to show up to get their child. He was supposed to be here at 7:30 but he showed up at 8am. Oh well, Not really that bad. Only The Chick had to leave for school before then so some had to be around with her son. [That would be me.]

Anyway, so that means I'm awake. I'm going into work early today too which just makes my day longer. I'm once again casually training another caller. This one is a female. Now I'm not sexist but I've found female callers can the hardest time being accepted by the crowds that play bingo. So, in order to avoid that outcome I've changed the direction of my training. Normally, I work on the technical side of calling. Mainly, this is because there's a lot of things that a caller has to do and be aware of that the crowd never sees or notices yet makes the whole event run smooth. Instead I'm going to start with her vocal technics. That way when she starts having to call to learn the job she won't:
A) Drone them to sleep
B) Sing them a song (not really a song but it's a result of bad inflection)

If I feel this works well chances are I'll change my training method to this one. Proving that the world judges books by their cover.

Changing the subject because the snoring in the back is getting to me. I was reading Pop Culture Junk Mail and had a link to a huge flashback for me. It was a link to an article about a seriously old computer game called The Oregon Trail.

I remember playing that game. As I was reading the article I was thinking they make similar games now and they're called The Sims, Civilization, and Age Of Empire. Except they're just a wee bit more involved. Another basic game we used to play was called "Lemonade". I see you can buy an updated version of it called Lemonade tycoon.

Proving once again, We love Nostalgia and there's nothing new under the sun.
