2004-09-15 - 1:30 a.m. I'm RICH! ...Well... Not Really. I'm sure I've mentioned before that along with working in the gambling industry I also enjoy gambling. I'm sure I've also mentioned I started playing Online Poker awhile ago. Well, Figuring that I might have so more spare time on my hands of late I thought I would explore a few different poker sites. I do love Ultimate Bet but I thought it was time to expand my horizons. To cut out the boring crap I joined about 5 or 6 other places. A number of these places offer Freeroll Tournaments. This means you can enter in the tournament without spending any real money. Alot of these tourney's are for points or bonus bucks (Since There's no Money in the prize pool.) except I found one that had money attached to it. I was playing along in the Tournament and I hit off really well. Now I don't have the memory some other poker players have (which is probably why I think I'm a good poker player and not a GREAT player) and I can't remember what the hands were thathappened. All I know is I had some really uncanny luck in the early part of this particular tournament and I was the chip leader (meaning I had the most chips of any one else in the tournament) for a 15 minutes or so. This was also a smaller tournament of only 360 people and they seemed to drop off fast. I think the whole tournament only lasted 2 hours. I was sitting quite well as the final few tables were playing off. While I was checking on where abouts I was positioned in terms of everyone else, I realized that the Top 10 places recieved actual money. I was sitting about 13th or so at this point. So making the final table (Seats 10 people) was a possibility. I had the fortune of hitting a really good hand and also managed to pick up a decent sized pot that pushed me up in position and I ended up making the final table. Unfortunately for me, I didn't last long once I made it to the final table. I ended up finishing 10th. But I won MONEY! $4.50 But WOOHOO! There's something to be said for actually winning something. Anyway, the site has 0.05/0.10 table and I finally got gutsy and sat down at the table with my $4.50. I won 0.50 cents on my very first hand. I got cocky and lost $1 there after. I got smarter and started only coming to the table with $1. That way I can only lose the $1 max. I've managed to get my balance up to $6.55 (my peak was about $8). Ok, So I'm not gonna be able to retire anytime soon but I've given myself a new goal. Make enough to actually make it worth Cashing Out. I'd imagine that would be a balance of $50. We'll see how it goes. I'll probably move this topic, with my progress, over to my BLOG. Note: For those that have access to it, the entry prior to this one is a private entry.
