August

Look at this two entries in two days. In an attempt to entertain better I'm trying to update more than once a week. Well at least more than once during the Weekdays because I often update on the weekends but you people who read me from your workplaces (which is 95% of you) don't often see those updates. Unless of course, you notice the added titles in my "Previous Five Entries" which is some of you (like 10%)

It's August and there's so much that this month will hold. My Dad's birthday is coming up on the 14th. I'm going to try and make it over there in the next little bit to try and celebrate his birthday early. This will probably consist of taking him to the Pub and playing Keno with him over a few beverages. Good times.

The month of August would have been my Mom's Birthday too about a week after my Dad's birthday. This, of course, is one of those many first that I (and the rest of my family) will face following the death of a loved one. Mother's Day was the real first first. I think this will be the first significant first. I'm concerned about my sister that was closest to my Mom. She's always treated birthdays with such importance it's hard to imagine how difficult it will be that she won't be able to celebrate my Mom's birthday. I'll try and be there for her. She seems to take comfort in being able ot talk to me. She doesn't call me that often but when she does the conversation tend to go on for a long time. I'm not really into long conversations on the phone but I do it because I know my Sis needs it.

On a Happier note, I'm going to come out of my self-induced DJ retirement to do one last Wedding Reception. It'll happen in late August. I'm looking forward to it and I've got to make sure I get my ass in gear and keep in touch with the bride and groom to finalize everything. It's weird having not done it for so long a lot of what used to without thinking, I find myself having to remind myself "need ask this" or "need to make sure of this". It really shows the rust. I hope I can wing the show good enough that everyone has a good time. It'll be a challenge and I love a challenge.

I'm sure this month is going to whip on by on me and then summer will be over. It once again was already too short. Let's hope the fall weather stays as summer was. (At least in my area.)

Today was BC Day. It's not that exciting of a holiday. I think they just picked this day as BC Day because all the other long weekends were taken by better holidays. See, even when it comes to holidays BC is treated like a rented mule. Bastards!
